Mini Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp Dutch process cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp buttermilk
  • 3 tbsp applesauce
  • 4 1/2 tsp canola oil
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

    Prep: Line 6-inch cake pan with parchment, spray and flour. Mix dry ingredients.

    Make Batter: Beat egg with sugar until pale. Alternately fold in dry and wet ingredients. Add chocolate.

    Bake: Air fry at 320°F / 160°C for 25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

    Make Frosting: Brown butter until golden, cool 10 minutes. Whisk with honey, vanilla, and powdered sugar.

    Finish: Frost cooled cake and garnish with extra chocolate.
